The diverse investigations into improper conduct by basketball agents and schools has led to some shocking revelations over the past year. One new discovery regarding one-time Arizona star DeAndre Ayton has gotten some special attention.
Per ESPN, a recent recording of one-time Arizona assistant Book Richardson to would-be agent Christian Dawkins revealed that Wildcats caput coach Sean Miller allegedly was paying Ayton to play. Per the report, Miller was allegedly paying Ayton as much as $x,000 per month equally a member of his programme.
Miller has previously been accused of making payments to players, but completely denied it. He was suspended for one game during the 2022-19 season.
Ayton played i season for Arizona and was a huge part of the team'south Pac-12 regular season and tournament title wins. His strong season for the Wildcats earned him numerous awards and accolades, too as the No. one overall selection in the 2022 NBA Draft.

The wiretaps were revealed equally function of a trial alleging that Dawkins bribed college coaches.
One particular piece of testimony was particularly damning for Miller.
A recorded conversation between Miller and Dawkins regarding Ayton revealed the Arizona coach stating, "I'm taking care of everything myself. I wanna bring you lot in. I'll turn everything over to y'all."
A witness for the prosecution would later prove that "taking intendance of everything" referred to payments to Ayton.
